Sterilizing Our Treatment Rooms During COVID-19
We’re so excited to share with you The Beauty Collective’s latest piece of technology. We’re using a special light in our service rooms to combat COVID-19, and we’re so happy that clients can enjoy clean, pure air when they come to us for their treatments. This amazing light is called a Smart UV-C Lamp, and this is why we love it!
Introducing the Smart UV-C Sterilization Lamp
Smart UV is a medical-grade, portable UV-C lamp that sterilizes entire rooms. It’s so good that it kills up to 99 percent of bacteria, viruses, allergens, and mold. That means when you come to us, there’s no need to worry about catching COVID-19.
Small but Mighty!
Smart UV is just under six inches — it’s so small it can fit in a handbag. But don’t let its size fool you into thinking it’s not powerful or effective. This is medical-grade equipment. It has a range of 4.5 feet, which makes it ideal for The Beauty Collective’s rooms. Larger models are available, or if you want to sterilize a bigger space, you can use more than one Smart UV.
The way it works is that we turn Smart UV on and leave the room. A light in a tube in the middle of the lamp emits concentrated UV-C light 360º around the device. A cycle takes just 30 minutes. The special UV-C light destroys the DNA of bacteria and viruses, removes airborne impurities, and purifies the air.
What’s really impressive about Smart UV is the ‘double sterilization effect.’ We need to vacate the room because Smart UV produces ozone, which is great since it kills musty and bad odors. This is what the lamp’s creators call a double sterilization effect.
Safe and Effective
After 30 minutes, Smart UV automatically switches off. We then air out the room for 45 minutes to let the ozone disperse. After that, we return to a fresh, clean room that is free from bacteria, viruses, allergens, mold, and odors.
The great thing about Smart UV is that it’s small enough to move it to where we want it, and it looks great too. It’s perfectly safe, but the manufacturers recommend leaving the room empty after a cycle while the ozone breaks back down into oxygen. Plus, Smart UV is so easy to use; it’s battery-powered, and we recharge it by micro-USB.
