How It Works

Lash Lift + Tint 101

Getting a lash lift is a cost-effective, long-lasting way to increase the appearance of your eyelashes. It’s gentle on your own natural lashes and an easy way to look more awake and lively without needing to use an eyelash curler or apply mascara everyday.

The process is like a “perm” for your lashes. Using a safe, gentle, organic solution, your lashes will be “set” giving them a nice upward shape and curl that lasts approximately a couple months. Bear in mind that this is a semi-permanent solution and most lash lifts last between 6-8 weeks.

And for extra depth and darkness, you can even have your lashes tinted. It is such an easy solution to add glamor to your eyes. You’ll wonder why you ever waited so long to look this good.

Prep + Post Treatment

  • How to prepare for your Lash Lift + Tint treatment:

    • Stop using waterproof mascara at least 48 hours before your appointment, as it leaves behind residue that may affect the treatment.

    • Avoid curling your natural lashes for at least 24 hours before your appointment.

    • We recommend showering before your appointment, as you will need to keep your lashes dry for 24 hours following the treatment.

    • Remove contact lenses before appointment.

    • Remove all eye makeup and lash extensions.

  • • Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours after application.

    • Avoid oil-based lotions, creams, shampoos, face washes, wipes, and mascara for 24 hours after service.

    • Be careful of excessive heat from the oven, stovetop or any flame, as this will straighten your curl.

    • Sleep on your back for the first 24 hours to avoid compromising lash shape as your lashes are still malleable.

    • Be careful to avoid rubbing your eyes for at least 24 hours.

    • We highly recommend using the formulated oil-free eye makeup remover we carry at Beauty Rule.

    • We highly recommend using the formulated Elleevate Keratin Lash Lift Mascara by Elleebana, available for purchase at Beauty Rule.

    • If you are concerned about your lash health, we sell a formulated treatment that will condition your lashes.

    • Book your next lift + tint treatment again in 6-8 weeks.

Lash Lift + Tint FAQs

  • Essentially, a lash lift is akin to a perm for your lashes, offering a convenient process that typically takes between 45 minutes to an hour. Conducted by a licensed professional, the procedure involves using a curling rod tailored to your eye shape and desired lash style. With your eyes closed throughout, the process begins with gentle cleansing, followed by curling and securing your lashes to the rod, and then applying a lifting solution. This solution transforms the texture of your lashes, molding them to the curvature of the rod. Finally, a setting solution is applied to maintain the shape. It's important to note that this is a semi-permanent treatment, which is both safe and associated with exceedingly rare allergic reactions.

  • You can wear mascara after 48 hours. We recommend using only the mascara that is formulated for the lift, which we carry at Beauty Rule. Non-formulated mascaras can affect the longevity of your lash lift.

  • Lash lifts generally last for six to eight weeks, but it varies depending on the growth rate of your lashes. If you have quick hair growth then it is not likely to last for the full eight weeks.

  • All of the solutions we use are cruelty free. One of the solutions we use is vegan, the other is not. If you prefer the vegan option, please let us know in your appointment notes when booking, or tell your technician before she begins the service.

  • If you are dissatisfied with the volume, thickness or length of your eyelashes, then this treatment may be the best solution available. It’s cost-effective, long-lasting and gentle on your natural eyelashes.

Immediately after the procedure, you have to be prepared for the compliments. Most people who have this treatment say that their friends and family start remarking on how much more awake, lively and alluring they look. Compliments even come from strangers on the street who can’t resist commenting on how gorgeous your lashes are. Will you tell them your secret? That’s entirely up to you.

If you frequently find yourself feeling frustrated by all of the preparations you have to make with your eyelashes every morning, then an eyelash lift is the right solution for you. You’ll hop out of bed every morning looking like you’re ready to head out the door. You may even discover that you don’t need mascara anymore. That’s a great, low-maintenance look for anyone.

  • Not everyone will be a perfect candidate for a lash lift so it’s important to understand who will be and who should stick to extensions. First, an ideal candidate for the lash lift is someone who has strong, healthy lashes, but wants to make their eyes look open and pretty without the daily hassle or damage of a lash curler.

Aside from that, someone that’s looking for a natural, low maintenance, lash service and/or someone who would like to still wear mascara - lash lifts would be a great option.

  • Like anything, lash lifts compared to lash extensions really does come down to preference.

Lash lifts simply enhance your existing natural lashes, curling them the same way a perm curls the hair on your head. Lash lifts are a good fit for someone who has strong, healthy lashes that are already a length they’re satisfied with. Most people agree that a lash lift is more comfortable than wearing eyelash extensions. Getting a lash lift is definitely the low maintenance approach compared to getting extensions. An optional tint can be added for a bolder look. Clients generally come every 6-8 weeks for lash lifts, as opposed to every 2-4 weeks for lash extension fills.

Lash extensions offer more options and variety, and they’re the number one way to bring the drama! If you’re dissatisfied with the volume or length of your lashes, getting extensions is the way to go to make them thicker and longer.

  • You are not a candidate for lash lift if any of the following apply to you:

    • Pregnancy, especially during the first trimester

    • Eye infections/disorders, including styes an

    inflammation

    • Recent eye surgery

    • Allergy to product

    • Ultra-sensitive skin

    • Hay fever sufferers

    • Watery eyes

    • Unable to tolerate people working closely with your eyes

    • Conjunctivitis

    • Using prescribed medicated eye drops

    • Certain medications may change how effective the lash lift solution is

    • Dry eye syndrome

    • Post chemotherapy

    • Glaucoma

    • Claustrophobia

  • We frequently suggest incorporating a tint to enhance the vibrancy of your eyes. However, if your natural lashes are already deeply pigmented, tinting may not be essential. We offer tinting for both upper and lower lashes, and if you're uncertain about whether it's suitable for you, feel free to consult your technician. To ensure ample time for tinting if you opt for it, we recommend booking the lash lift and tint together. You have the option to choose between black, blue-black, or brown tint for your lashes.

Brow Lamination 101

What a difference good brows can make! Say so long to unruly eyebrows. Brow lamination is the secret to getting well behaved, high-shine, and ultra-full brows.

Even though eyebrow lamination is often described as a “perm for your brows,” it’s actually the complete opposite. Brow Lamination straightens your eyebrow hairs so they all lay in the desired direction, making your eyebrows more manageable. Thick, full brows appear more manicured.  And thin, sparse brows will appear fuller.

Brow lamination is a non-invasive, less permanent, alternative to microblading. You can officially say goodbye to having to apply your brows everyday and hello to the illusion of more hair. You don’t have to commit to microblading in order to fill in the gaps, add definition, and get fuller looking brows.

Bringing balance to your brows will open up your eyes and brighten your entire face. You can even add a wax or a tint to really elevate your look.

Prep + Post Treatment

  • How to prepare for your Brow Lamination treatment:

    • Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-aging skincare around your brow area for 3 days before (and after) your treatment.

    • Avoid fake tanning products on your face for 3 days before (and after) your treatment, especially if doing a brow tint, as it can affect the color.

    • It is best to arrive with no makeup on, however your technician will cleanse your brow area before application.

    • We recommend showering before your appointment, as you will want to keep your brow area completely dry for 24 hours following the treatment, this includes excessive sweating. Please plan accordingly.

  • • Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush (provided at your appointment) in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks.

    • Avoid getting your brow area wet for 24 hours.

    • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours.

    • Avoid excessive rubbing or touching of your treated area for 24 hours.

    • Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-aging skincare around your brow area for 3 days before and after your treatment.

    • Avoid fake tanning products on your face for 3 days before and after your treatment, as it can discolor the eyebrow tint.

    • Avoid applying any heavy makeup (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours.

Treatment FAQs

  • Your new brows will last about six to eight solid weeks after treatment (depending on aftercare).

  • Short answer... no. The safety of your brows depends on how long the treatment is left on your hair during the first and second steps. Don't need to fret our technicians at Beauty Rule know the best way to care for your brows. If you are worried about the health of your brow hair, we recommend Brow and Lash Toxx, a conditioning treatment that will keep your brows super soft.

  • Brow lamination is generally inclusive and suitable for most individuals, provided their skin tolerates the formula well. While adverse reactions are uncommon, if you're apprehensive, requesting a patch test from your technician is perfectly reasonable. Additionally, feel free to send us images of your brows via text or email for a consultation prior to scheduling your brow lamination appointment. Below, you'll find a list of contraindications that indicate individuals who may not be ideal candidates for this treatment.

  • Similar to a lash lift, keeping your brows dry in the 24 hours following your lamination treatment is very important. During the lamination process, we use an assortment of creams as well as a permanent gel to relax and shape your brows. If you get your eyebrows wet too soon after we finish applying these products, your brows do not have a chance to set with their new shape.

  • You are not a candidate for Brow Lamination if any of the following apply to you:

    • Psoriasis/eczema on your face/brow area

    • Recent eye surgery

    • Alopecia

    • Recent permanent makeup (must be fully healed by at least 6 weeks)

    • Sunburn

    • Ultra-sensitive skin

    • Blood thinning medications and some antibiotics (check with your physician)

    • Pink eye

    • Scar tissue in the treatment area

    • Pregnant or lactating (hormones can affect the quality of your brow hair)

  • Brow lamination sessions typically take less than 30 minutes. If you opt for additional services such as tinting and/or waxing alongside your lamination, we allocate extra time accordingly. A full brow makeover (lamination, tint, and shaping) should take less than an hour.
