Little to No Side Effects

Sensitivity and gum recession after whitening treatments can occur. Gum recession is the damage that occurs when the whitening solution touches the gums. Post-whitening sensitivity is usually moderate to high with at-home strips and gel tray products and severe when whitening is performed in a dental office.

The best way to avoid side effects is ensuring the whitening treatment is done by a well-trained professional using a proven process. Secondly, when selecting at-home options, avoid messy products that are difficult to apply to the teeth without touching other areas of the mouth.

Read product labels and avoid any teeth whitening service that uses harmful or undisclosed chemicals. In addition, not all whitening solutions are made the same, so don’t be afraid to ask what’s in it and how effective it will be.

DaVinci Teeth Whitening Expectations

DaVinici Teeth Whitening safely removes stains caused by foods, beverages, tobacco, medicine, and aging.

When whitening, you may feel a slight tingling.

DaVinci products will not damage existing dental work.

DaVinci products will remove stains from existing dental work, but will not whiten them beyond their original color.

White spots may appear more prevalent directly after whitening, but the contrast will lessen within 24 hours.

Everyone's teeth respond differently and have their own natural "stop" point for whitening results.

Teeth may feel temporary sensitivity; sensitivity is typically minor and gone within 24 hours. You may choose to purchase a desensitizing treatment with your whitening.

You may experience temporary gum irritation, which is more prevalent in clients that have brush abrasion from brushing teeth within 4 hours prior to whitening.

DaVinci product offers enamel strengthening qualities. It is organic plant and mineral based containing NO animal by-products. Active ingredient is a Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

To maintain healthy teeth and gums, it is recommended that you visit your dentist on a regular basis. If you have allergies or reactions to peroxide or glycerin, teeth whitening is NOT recommended. If you have diabetes, heart conditions, pregnant, and/or currently breastfeeding you may want to consult with your doctor prior to using whitening products. Ask your representative for a list of ingredients if you have concerns. Any existing mouth sores may feel temporary irritation during and/or after whitening.

Prep + Post Treatment

  • • Do NOT brush your teeth for at least 4 hours prior to whitening. Brushing can cause brush abrasion and lead to gum irritation/blanching.

    • Be sure your lips are not severely chapped. We can supply you with lip balm to apply right before the treatment.

    • Please allow (at least) 4 days between dental cleaning and teeth whitening treatment.

    • We recommend bringing headphones or a book to entertain yourself while you sit with the gel and light. Please do not schedule phone calls during this time (texting is okay).

    • If you are doing this treatment before an important event, we recommend booking one week before the event to allow any potential issues to fade or be corrected.

    • Please note you will not be able to eat or drink for 2 hours after whitening treatment (except water), so we recommend eating before your appointment.

  • • Do not eat or drink anything other than water for at least 2 hours following your treatment.

    • Drinking water for the next 2 hours following treatment will decrease possible sensitivity.

    • Do not smoke or chew tobacco for at least 2 hours after treatment.

    • Avoid any dark colored food or beverage for at least 24 hours. NO -- coffee, tea, soda, cool-aid, red wine, tomato sauce, red meat, dark colored vegetables, or anything with heavy color for 24 hours post treatment. Yes -- water, white wine, white chicken, pork, turkey, noodles, white sauce, white cheese, potatoes, etc. after at least 2 hours.

    • Next 48 hours: brush very gently with a white toothpaste, DO NOT BRUSH GUMS, avoid using a whitening or baking soda toothpaste.

    • Any sensitivity is typically gone within 24 hours. You may choose to purchase the DaVinci desensitizing gel or take a mild pain reliever.

    • Use your home maintenance kit and/or whitening pen to help maintain your smile!

Treatment FAQs

  • After undergoing whitening with the DaVinci Teeth Whitening System, teeth shades will brighten up to 14 shades, with an average improvement of five to eight shades with each 20 minute session. Individual results will depend on your current tooth shade, treatment time, and the composition of your teeth. Your end result will be a whiter, healthier smile. Everyone's teeth are different and will have a natural stop point. We offer a 60 minute session for optimal results and to remove all layers of staining.

  • This varies from person to person and depends on your diet and lifestyle. However, with proper maintenance and periodic touch-up treatments, you can keep your smile looking great for a lifetime.

  • Yes, the DaVinci whitening gel formulation is an organic plant and mineral based product with built in enamel building qualities. Scientific research has shown that the active ingredients in the DaVinci Teeth Whitening Gels are safe and effective. Our whitening equipment is FDA approved and has been used throughout the dental and cosmetic community for years. DaVinci Teeth Whitening does not change or damage the structure of the teeth; it merely lifts and removes the stains, making your teeth whiter.

  • The treatment consists of three 20 minute sessions. It takes no longer than the time it would for you to have a haircut or a facial - it is that simple! Please allow approximately 15-30 additional minutes for application, clean up, and checkout. Your entire appointment will be 1-1.5 hours.

  • No, because our signature laser gel is all natural the treatment does not hurt and most clients experience no sensitivity. A very small percentage of clients may feel some tooth sensitivity, especially if they are dehydrated or consume very cold/hot foods or drinks within two hours after the whitening session. Any sensitivity is short term and gone within 24-48 hours. We do offer solutions for those that are concerned about sensitivity.

  • Yes, DaVinci teeth whitening will remove staining from existing dental work and take it back to the original color. Our goal is to clean up the existing dental work and whiten the natural teeth to match for a nice even smile. We cannot whiten them beyond the original color of the material used at the time of placement. If your existing dental work is not in your smile line it won’t matter either way because it is not visible.

  • The DaVinci Teeth Whitening treatment provides dramatic results for anyone who wants to whiten their teeth. This includes people with teeth that have been stained by smoking or by substances such as coffee, tea, soda, wine and other consumable items. We also see great results on people with teeth stained by tetracycline, fluoride, and hereditary discoloration.

  • Teeth whitening works best on teeth free of plaque and tartar. Staying current on your dental cleanings is important for your health, but will also ensure the best possible results for whitening. We recommend waiting at least 4 days after your most recent dental cleaning.

  • You may not a candidate for Teeth Whitening if any of the following apply to you:

    Pregnant or lactating

    Suffer from gum recession, extremely sensitive teeth, or poor oral health

    Temporary teeth or dentures

    Intrinsic coloring, root canal, fluorosis spots, tetracycline stain, calcification spots. These need to be removed by a dentist.

    If you have had implants, oral surgery, gum grafting, or extractions, please allow 8 weeks to fully heal before whitening.

    Epilepsy or seizure medication

    Uncontrolled diabetes
