The Best Lipstick Trends For 2018

Here at The Beauty Collective we love beauty products, especially lipstick! Here are some lipstick trends that everyone is talking about for 2018.

Ultra Violet

Pantone called it, Ultra Violet is the color of 2018 and lipstick shades have been no exception. Ultra Violet is one of those colors you might be unsure whether you can pull off but I say try it…you might surprise yourself. This shade of lipstick looks great on all skin tones, adding it to any look will show you’re confident as well as fashion forward.

 

Nude

Nude tones are perfect way to add a simplistic yet sophisticated touch to any look. Nude lips look best when the color is one shade darker or lighter than your complexion, instead of an exact match.  Pair a nude or natural lip color with a brown or black smokey eye and you’ll have the ultimate date-night look.

 

 

Berry

Berry colors like plum, deep pinks and burgundy are perfect for all types of skin tones. Colors in this shade pairs well with a simple day look or is a great choice of color for a bronze eyeshadow. Colors in this hue makes you look put together in an effortless way. The right shade can bring out the pigments in your skin, perfect for these sunless months.

 

Natural

Skin is in for 2018 so lipsticks that are similar to natural lip colors are making their way to the top of the popularity list. Some of us aren’t blessed with naturally pigmented lips but adding a deeper blush pink or mauve lipstick to enhance your lip pigment is a great choice for those of us wanting a more natural look. My favorite shades are just a shade dark and pinker than my lip and your an go matte or glossy for this one.

 

Orangy Red

Everyone knows red is a classic lipstick color and its here to stay but taking an old classic and adding a twist of pizazz is always more fun. An orange red hue is perfect with a doe-eyed, long lash look, a bit of a throw back to the seventies and perfect for eyelash extensions with no need for any other makeup. A pop of color on a natural look is so in… making this lip color a no brainer.

 

Glossy

Look out matte lips…shiny ooey gooey lips are in and making a comeback. High gloss lips used to be the go to look for the younger crowd but now lip gloss has been seen all over the runways late last year is here to stay in 2018. I love pairing my favorite lip color, bold or muted with it a sheer or clear lip gloss to give it that bit of drama.
