Dermaplaning 101
Give your skin a little love! Dermaplaning is the best treatment for you if youβre looking for a quick way to get glowing. Perfect for everyday life or before a special occasion, one single dermaplaning treatment will leave your face softer to the touch and smoother in appearance.
You have great skin! Let us show you. Dermaplaning will brighten dull, dry skin or a sallow complexion. Itβs a great treatment for you if you have enlarged pores, acne scars, or hyperpigmentation.
Dermaplaning is a perfect solution for anyone looking for a fast and easy way to prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. It promotes collagen growth which stimulates the production of fresh, young skin cells, while helping your skin to breathe easier. As a result, active ingredients in skin care products can penetrate into the deeper layers creating healthier skin.
Dermaplaning is a great treatment for anyone, and safe for women that are pregnant and nursing.
By moving a metal medical instrument along the skin, Dermaplaning removes the surface level of dead skin and excess vellus hair (a.k.a. peach fuzz) that causes a buildup of dirt and oil in your follicles.
Youβll enjoy a brighter, more luminous glow and an improvement in the tone and texture of your skin right away.
Your makeup will glide on effortlessly and youβll instantly look better in photos. Stop caking on the foundation and book a dermaplaning appointment. Itβs finally time to recapture the glowing youthful skin youβve been dreaming of!

This technique is safely performed using a blade specifically designed for dermaplaning. Once the skin is properly prepped, the technician holds the skin taut and gently glides the blade along the skin's surface at a 45 degree angle to remove dead skin and fine hairs.
-
It is extremely safe when performed by a professionally trained technician utilizing DermaplanePro methods and tools, as we do at Beauty Rule!
-
No, this is physiologically impossible. The soft, fine vellus hair will grow back slowly-usually in about 4 weeks.
There are two types of hair that grow on our bodies:
Vellus hair is the thin, fine, soft hair that typically covers the entire body.
Terminal hair is the coarse hair that grows on the head, face in men and some women, underarms, legs and pubic areas.
-
Not if done properly. This is why it is very important to see a professional esthetician who is trained.
-
Dermaplaning is performed on the face and sides of the neck.
-
Dermaplaning can be performed every 3 to 4 weeks. Treating the skin in this manner actually removes about 2 to 3 weeks worth of dead skin cells.

-
No. When dermaplaning is performed as a preparation for a chemical peel, the visible exfoliation that the client sees will be a result of the peel solution that is added in the treatment.

-
All skin types can benefit from dermaplaning. Typically, clients over 35 are the best candidates, and will return for regular treatments. It is highly addictive! Men can be dermaplaned on non-beard areas only.
-
Clients with active acne outbreaks should not be treated until lesions are healed. Dermaplaning is great for diminishing acne scars, but should not be performed during active outbreaks.
Clients with bleeding disorders or difficulty clotting should not be treated.
Clients with diabetes, not under control by diet or medication, should not be treated.
Clients undergoing cancer treatment should not be treated.
Clients with active cold sores will need to be rescheduled, and if prone to cold sores should begin to pre-medicate 24 hours prior to receiving a service.

LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment which has been used effectively for more than 20 years for both aesthetic and medical applications. When correctly used, medical studies show to have no adverse side-effects.
Unlike other types of light therapy, LEDs produce a pure light wavelength and do not contain ultraviolet rays. This means they are safe for regular use and cannot cause sunburn or tanning of the skin.
-
Red light targets the dermal layers, providing excellent results in collagen and elastin synthesis. Near-infrared is a frequency of light just below the visible spectrum and is able to penetrate even deeper into the dermis. It can reach the subcutaneous layer of skin and the muscle to enable deep tissue repair and cellular regeneration.
-
Undergoing treatment feels like lying on the beach and basking in the sun β but without the harmful UV rays! Your skin should get no more than slightly warm, but the βglowβ sensation can last hours after your treatment.
-
LED light therapy is incremental and builds on the work of previous treatments. This means you should expect results from your first treatment to be relatively minor, but improvement should increase significantly with each further treatment. Improvement to your skin should even continue after your last treatment.
-
A course of LED light therapy is usually 10 sessions spaced at weekly or twice weekly intervals. Expect your skin to continue improving for several weeks after your final treatment. You can add an LED light therapy treatment to any service, or enjoy our LED Light Therapy Facial. We recommend joining our Skin Membership for a monthly discount!

Oxygen Facial 101
The Oxygen Facial is designed to nourish the skin and promote collagen growth by replenishing the levels of oxygen in your skin. By applying a specially formulated mask onto your face, this fast-acting facial eliminates wrinkles and blemishes, and restores a youthful appearance to your skin. Oxygen facials not only feed the top layer of your skin fresh new oxygen, they penetrate down into your collagen layer too. Most facials cannot penetrate the dermal layer, but oxygen facials can push a variety of chosen serums for your specific skin type deeper into your skin delivering a custom cocktail of vitamins, anti-oxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid leaving you with a restored youthful appearance.
Benefits of Oxygen Facial
Most facials cannot penetrate to the dermal layer (other than injectables) so they cannot help firm the skin and plump out lines that are deeper than surface dehydration lines. An oxygen facial allows for deeper penetration of βactiveβ ingredients, giving you a quicker and longer lasting result.
Your skin will look more plump and firmer to the touch.
Fine lines will be filled out and deeper lines will appear softer.
Pores and blackheads will be minimized.
The color and tone of your skin will be more even.
And in most cases, you will be able to see a firmer, more lifted jawline and brow area.
Routine Oxygen Facials also help stimulate your own collagen fibers to stay strong, healthy and resilient, creating firmer skin as you age. Get a monthly facial at a discounted rate with our Skin Membership!

Treatment FAQs
-
For best results, getting an Oxygen Facial once a month is recommended to help the skin turnover at an optimal rate to maintain a youthful appearance. If youβre interested in monthly facials, check out our Skin Membership for discounted rates.
Collagen rebuilds every 3 months, so getting an Oxygen Facial every 90 days will greatly help you slow down the aging process if youβre under 40. Once you hit 40 years old, collagen gets weaker, creating deeper lines and sagging skin. To minimize this, a course of 6 treatments over 2 months can dramatically improve lines, texture, pore size and firmness. Then a monthly Oxygen Facial is recommended as a part of your skincare routine.
-
You will begin by lying into a luxuriously comfortable treatment bed (it feels like you are going back to bed) and then having a skin analysis to see what serum is best for your skin on that particular day (skin changes daily with stress, weather, hormonal changes & general well-being), then we will cleanse to remove pollution and make-up from the face, a gentle enzyme exfoliation to eliminate blocked pores and surface dryness.
This is also important so that serums work deeper into your skin, giving you a longer-lasting result. Then, the chosen serum is applied, Hyperbaric (pure) Oxygen is applied gently to the skin, allowing the serum to be massaged in, using lymphatic movements to encourage blood flow, circulation and quicker absorption of vitamins, anti-oxidants & plant based botanicals with the added benefits of feeling like a massage.
Once the serum has been massaged in using the oxygen, a relaxing pressure point massage with essential oils is done, focusing on calming and balancing the nervous system, ensuring stress levels are at a minimum and breathing techniques are maximized. This also helps with stress management and better sleep after a facial at home.
A Swedish massage follows on face, neck and shoulders and finally is completed by home-care application of a firming serum, hydrating gel and moisture binding cream to maintain hydration, giving your facial, time to continue working over the next 48hrs.
-
Your skin will look more plump, fine lines will be filled out and softer and the skin will be firmer to touch. The color will be more even, pore size more regular and blackheads minimized. Deeper lines will be softer and in most cases, you will be able to see a firmer, more lifted jawline and brow area. The more regular you have oxygen facials, the firmer your skin will appear β usually more apparent after the first 3 facials.
-
The Oxygen Facial will continue to βworkβ (firm and nourish or βfeedβ the skin) for 48hrs after a treatment and then it is maintained by a simple 2 minute home-care routine morning and night. When maintaining a good skincare routine at home, results will last from one month to the next (depending on stress levels, hormone changes, travel, air conditioning changes & changes in temperature).
-
Yes. If you would like to get the best out of your facial investment, it is recommended to follow a simple, but effective skincare routine at home. Using the recommended products (suggested for your specific skin concerns), it is best to cleanse, tone, use a serum for firming, eye cream & day/night cream everyday, as well as sunscreen daily.
-
You will see results after the very first facial, but if you want to correct, firm and soften deeper lines, it is recommended to have a minimum of 3 facials, 1 per month, or a series of 6 facials over 2 months for quicker results.
-
You are not a candidate for an Oxygen Facial if any of the following apply to you:
Viruses such as colds, flu, fever, cold sores, warts, etc.
Bacterial Infections such as impetigo, boils, conjunctivitis, styes, etc.
Fungal Infections such as ringworm, blepharitis, undiagnosed lumps or swelling
Broken bones
A major sensitivity or allergy to products.

The significance of a superior performing machine recognizes several important technical attributes in relation to multi-signaling microcurrent technology. Therefore, not all micro current machines are the same.
There are thousands of frequencies that can be used (Sine, Square, Biphasic, Monophasic, Pulsed, Galvanic, etc). When these frequencies are combined into a preset program, it is called a βSignalβ. NeurotriS, the developers of the only Dynamic Microcurrent device on the market that features a constantly evolving Dynamic intelligent bilateral feedback loop that optimizes the signal based on an individuals skin at the time of treatment. NeurotriS Second Generation technology will significantly improve the look and feel of your skin for face and body.
It is crucial that the micro current and voltage operate at the proper level and are in perfect tune with a specific signal to give the desired effect. Every signal travels through the skin and tissues differently. Think of voltage as the driving force needed to get the multi-signals to the target tissues.
Biphasic signals travel through the skin without much resistance and may need less voltage to deliver the multi-signal microcurrent.
The skin is more resistive to galvanic signals and may need more voltage to deliver the multi-signal micro current.
It is important that the purity of the multi-signal microcurrent and voltage be maintained during the delivery across the many different skin types and densities.
-
Other machines are not able to maintain a pure frequency at such low current levels when applied to the skin. A-1 Engineering, manufacturer of the NeurotriSβ’ 2nd Generation Multi-Signaling Microcurrent Machines, discovers a breakthrough in microcurrent technology and patents "Constant Waveform Morphology" (CWM).
Constant Waveform Morphology (CWM): The ability to deliver an absolute pure multi-signal at low Micro, Nano and Pico currents without being affected by normal body impedances.
All NeurotriSβ’ machines have bio-feedback skin impedance monitoring that maintains the appropriate multi-signal no matter the skin impedance. It is because of this ability to maintain the multi-signal purity, NeurotriSβ’ body and facial machines produce faster results that last longer.
-
NeurotriSβ’ Body Sculptors have up to 18 independent isolated multi-signal micro current channels with 22 optional outputs. NeurotriSβ’ Face Toners have up to 4 independent isolated multi-signal micro current channels with 6 optional outputs. This allows for the multi-signal microcurrent to treat the skin surface area more efficiently than you can with a single channel system. One sweep of the NeurotriSβ’ 4 channel Pico Probes is equal to 4 sweeps of any other single channel system.
-
Many other single channel machines can only output one frequency at one time. These 1st generation micro current machines are limiting because they are not consistent with the many different skin types, therefore the results do not last as long. NeurotriSβ’ Body Sculptors and Face Toners show significantly improved results when compared to 1st generation single channel machines. Why buy anything else?

Treatment FAQs
-
Microcurrent is an extremely low level of electricity that mirrors the bodyβs own natural electrical current. Because this low level of electricity is subsensory, treatments are comfortable and painless.
-
As with a surgical facelift, microcurrent effects will not last forever. To sustain the effects as long as possible, refrain from the following:
Smoking
Consumption of alcohol
Illicit or unnecessary drugs
Sun exposure
Generally, you will find that the effects, when properly maintained, will last at least 6 weeks. For best results, we recommend multiple sessions - we offer packages at discounted rates, or join our Skin Membership!

Microcurrent is for use on healthy faces and healthy people. Clients who have past or present health concerns or questions not listed must consult with their physician to determine if microcurrent is right for them. It is safe for all skin types and skin colors.
-
Galvanic facials work on the principle of running a higher level of direct and constant electrical current (milliamps) from a probe or other implement on the clientβs face to an implement held in the clientβs hand or attached to their body. Electrical current is run through the clientβs entire body from one implement to the other to close the electrical loop in a galvanic facial.
Microcurrent on the other hand uses an extremely low and safe level of pulsed current (microamps) with specific outputs and wave shapes. In this facial, the electrical current is only applied to the clientβs face, and the current only travels between the two probes that are less than 2 inches apart.

Chemical Peels 101
A chemical peel pure and simple is a skin treatment that involves the application of specific acids to the top layers of the skin to remove them and reveal smoother and younger-looking skin.
Chemical peels can treat a variety of skin conditions, including the following:
Acne
Age spots and discoloration
Dullness or roughness
Fine lines and wrinkles
Melasma
Sun damage
Types of Chemical Peels
There are three different types of chemicals peels:
Light Chemical Peels
Also known as superficial, light peels use diluted acids to treat mild skin problems by sloughing off just the top layer of the skin.
Medium Chemical Peels
Medium peels use slightly higher concentrations of acid to treat more advanced skin problems, including hyperpigmentation and severe acne.
Deep Chemical Peels
Deep peels remove several layers of skin with a strong acid concentration. Some people require sedation when undergoing deep peels. Unfortunately we donβt currently offer these peels at Beauty Rule.

Treatment FAQs
-
There are three different types of peel: superficial, medium and deep peels. These are categorized by the strength of the acid solution used in the peel and how deeply they penetrate the skin. Deeper peels penetrate the skin further and require greater recovery time. At Beauty Rule we only perform superficial and medium peels, as these have minimum side effects and recovery time. If you are unsure which level of peel is best for your skin, you can set up a consultation to discuss your options.
-
Whilst you may see some very minor benefits after a single superficial peel, we recommend a course of six peels, one or two weeks apart. This will give the best results, as the full benefits of the peels build up over a course of six treatments. After a course of six peels you can have a once monthly maintenance peel or wait for three months before embarking on another course of peels. We offer a variety of packages at discounted rates.

Chemical peels are non-invasive treatments to improve the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers. A peel can reduce and improve uneven skin tone, dull skin, rough patches, and lines and wrinkles around your eyes and mouth. It can also treat acne scars and damaged skin from the sun.
Also known as chemexfoliation or derma peeling, this procedure will remove superficial layers of the skin and promote collagen production for a younger and more supple look.
-
If you have any of the issues noted above you are probably a great candidate for a chemical peel. There is really no age limit for a peel, and many women and men over the age of 65 have successful peels.
If you have a current infection, broken or cut skin, active herpes, a sunburn, or if you have taken Accutane in the last six months, you would not be a candidate.

At the time of treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed with an agent that removes excess oils, and the eyes and hair are protected. One or more chemical solutions β such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or lactic acid; trichloroacetic acid (TCA); or carbolic acid (phenol) β are used. These produce a controlled wound, enabling new, refreshed skin to appear. Most patients experience a warm to somewhat hot sensation which lasts about five to ten minutes.

Depending upon the type of peel, a reaction similar to sunburn occurs following a chemical peel. Superficial peeling usually involves redness, followed by scaling that ends within three to seven days. Medium-depth and deep peeling may result in swelling and the presence of water blisters that may break, crust, turn brown, and peel off over a period of 7 to 14 days It is important to avoid overexposure to the sun after a chemical peel since the new skin is fragile and more susceptible to complications. The state of your skin after a peel depends on what kind of peel you had. The superficial peels have limited effects, the medium peels may cause some redness.

You may be more sensitive to sun exposure. Take extra precautions by using sunscreen with SPF 20 or higher. We recommend limiting sun exposure for at least one week after your peel. Avoid strenuous exercise or any activity that may cause excessive sweating for 2-3 days. The perspiration caused may irritate the skin. Do not scrub your face when washing, gently cleanse. Avoid βhelping the skin to peelβ. You can control the peeling with a light moisturizer. Do not have any other facial treatment for at least one week after treatment.
